This company was recommended to my by an arborist (an actual, certified arborist) who was consulting on our trees but no longer provided tree trimming services.

The group was knowledgeable about each species of tree and appropriate methods for pruning.  They arrived promptly, did a beautiful job of trimming the trees and cleaned up everything.

Highly recommend.  They may, perhaps, be may be a bit more expensive than others but absolutely worth it if you value your trees!  It was definitely worth it for me.

I contacted Alex Llamas from Sexy Trees to do some tree and brush work in my small Berkeley yard. We had a medium height magnolia tree which needed thinning, an unruly bottlebrush bush that required shaping, an aging Santa Rosa plum tree who needed some dead branches removed and an out of control bougainvillea that was, well, out of control. Alex quoted a very reasonable price and sent his team over. I could not be happier with their work.

His crew arrived on time, they were friendly, efficient, and cleaned up all of the scattered leaves, twigs and branches. And did I mention their work was outstanding? The magnolia hasn’t looked this good/healthy in years and my backyard once again has sunlight for our raised garden beds.

Alex is amazing. He followed up with me many times and was very flexible about coming to  clear my fallen tree. He immediately responded in less than two hours to come out the same day. We had Alex come by to provide an estimate on 2 large Oak Trees that were located at our new home.  These Oak trees were in such bad shape we originally called Alex to see if it was best to cut the oak trees down.  Alex showed up to our meeting on time and gave professional analysis of the trees and their health.  After taking the time to understand our family and our backyard vision he recommended a good pruning of the trees instead of taking them out.  We are very glad that we took his recommendation.  His crew showed up as promised, took care of the job to perfection, and left the place as clean as he arrived.  Our trees look awesome as he stated they would and we found his pricing to be very reasonable.  We are very happy with sexytrees.com and would only use them in the future.

We have engaged Alex and his team a few times over the last couple of years. I requested mulch for my garden.  Alex showed up the next day and delivered about 4 cubic yards.  I asked him to leave his entire truck load (10 cubic yards), (because it smelled so piney, cedary and nice) and he did. I’ve been spreading the mulch throughout my entire home for the past 3 weeks.  It is incredible how much nicer the yard looks with fresh mulch spread throughout the entire landscape. I also read that if I put down two inches of mulch, weeds wouldn’t grow, in addition, to the roots of my trees and plants having a layer of insulation and moisture retention.  Win all around for everyone, me and my yard, and the plants!

Alex and his crew are totally clutch. I lagged on the removal/trimming of the silver dollar eucalyptus in my condominium’s back area to  less than 24 hours before the ‘storm of the decade.’ If this tree falls, it would likely capsize th’ condo. And mar my gorgeous creek! #procrastination.

I called Llamas Tree Service at 10:30. Alex came over, saw my situation, suggested he hack off a handful of limbs at their crotches, and THEN HE DID IT. All before 3:30. He also placated and charmed my anxious neighbor. High Five. Super professional. I can not report on the pricing considering I acquired no other estimates. I’ll will contact them again for the total removal of the tree. I recommend.

I have three Bradford pear trees that had grown out of my control.  I needed someone to give them a trimming and restore them to a state which I could do light trimming in the future.  Looking for someone to take on the task, I searched Yelp for a reliable recommended tree expert.  I found that Sexytrees.com had an excellent five star rating from previous customers so I contacted Alex Llamas, the owner. We set up an appointment and he came out to my house on the time and date as scheduled to assess the situation.

Alex is an arborist and immediately knew the name of my trees.  He pointed out which larger limbs were in danger of splitting off from the tree trunks in the future if they were not removed during the trimming.  Alex is a very easy going personable guy and after talking with him I felt confident that he would do a very good job.

Once Alex and his crew arrived as scheduled and got in motion, I was impressed with the agile tree climbers and the way they used their ropes and saws as they moved up and about from limb to limb.  The ground crew was just as impressive as they immediately gathered the fallen limbs and branches and carted them off to their chipper which was in my driveway. Branches that had fallen over my fence and onto my neighbor’s yard they also gathered for the chipper.  I knew they did a good cleanup there also, because I did not get any complaints from my neighbor after the job was complete. I liked the fact that as the trimming was taking place, one of the ground crew members had a laser light which he gave to me to point out anything on the trees which I wanted removed in addition to what they had removed already.

In conclusion, if you are looking for professional people to work on your trees that do an excellent job including cleanup, I highly recommend Alex and his wonderful crew at Sexytrees.com.  They are a great team !  Yes, my trees look a lot more sexy now.  I hear my neighbors whistling.

Sexy Trees!

When we purchased our home last summer I was taken by the eclectic collection of trees that inhabited the property.  The Siberian Elms, Valley Oaks, Ash, Pine and a massive Mulberry tree that had been providing shade were beautiful, but they had been relatively untouched for years.

After the battery of El Niño storms that blew through this winter started to take down dead branches in droves, it was time to get a professional in to assess the trees and thin them out.  I called three outfits for quotes and I went with the final bid – Llamas Tree Service.

It was obvious to me right from the start that Alex Llamas truly loves what he does.  I was impressed with his knowledge of the many types of trees and the characteristics of each.  I was even more impressed with his concern for their well being.  While the other quotes I received reflected the “cut and dried” trimming I was requesting, Alex’s approach differed in that his goal was to enhance the natural beauty and overall health of each tree.  He assured me that I would see the results I wanted, and that I would have “Sexy Trees!”

Alex and his crew showed up on time and got to work.  The team was very conscientious and were efficient in their tasks.  Ceasar, Vicente, Alfredo and Manuel tackled the project as if it were their own.  The chipper was used only when needed and cleanup was done prior to departure each day.  The trees turned out better than I had expected, and I can now see Alex’s vision.

Overall, I am extremely happy with Llamas Tree Service!  The 5-Star rating is much deserved and Alex and his crew will come highly recommended.

This review is long over due! I met Alex about a year ago and heard him talk to a group regarding tree maintenance, health, and removal. I was very impressed by his knowledge not only of how different trees need to be taken care of and his ability to identify different types of trees, but also his ability to explain how certain trees effect one another.

A few months following meeting Alex, my mom was looking for someone to remove a couple of trees. I referred her to a friend of my boss, because I had known him far longer. After we called 2-3 times, he never responded.

I asked my mom to trust me once more and to give Alex a call. She called him early one morning and not only did he answer immediately, he offered to be at the house within half an hour. He showed up to the house quickly, listened to our concerns, made suggestions and within a few days the trees were removed. Alex and his team did a great job, kept the site clean and at my moms request left the chips from the tree and large logs for use in the garden.

I highly recommend Alex – He really knows what he is doing when it comes to trees! A true Arborist!

Alex has a lot of knowledge about trees and is always continuing his education on Arboriculture. Before trimming we walked around the property with Alex as he examined each tree. I would recommend Llamas Tree Service, they are very friendly, professional and punctual. They were quick and efficient and very helpful. 5stars!!!

We have 5 palm trees in our backyard that my husband has wanted to have trimmed and skinned for several years because they drop debris into our pool.  So, I decided to have it done for him as a birthday gift. I set-up bids from three tree companies in our area. Two of them were about the same amount, but I chose Llamas Tree Service because they were the only ones who said that they would cover our pool.

Alex and his crew arrived on time and took the time to put a big tarp over our pool. The first day, they trimmed all of the dead palm branches off the trees. These palm trees are about 30 feet tall, so their work is not easy! They cleaned everything up when they were finished. The trees looked great!

Since my husband also wanted the palms skinned, too, Alex and crew came back a second day.  The skinning is a much more labor-intensive job and it took almost the entire day. His guys were hanging from ropes and on ladders very high up working with very sharp knives to get the outer layer of palm branch ends that cover the trees off. It seems very dangerous, but his guys handled the task like the professionals they are! They also put a tarp over the pool for this part of the job and even skimmed the pool for some straggling debris when they cleaned up! (His guys also saved a neighbor’s dog who was being attacked by a coyote when they arrived!)

I first found Alex (Llamas Tree Service) through the ISA (International Society of Aboriculture).  Alex is both a certified arborist and is also qualified for tree risk assessment.  I cross referenced his company with Yelp and saw all 5 star reviews and decided to give him a call.  His receptionist team picked up immediately, reached out to Alex and informed me he was in the area and if was available he could give me a free site assessment (going rate is about $200).  I scheduled him immediately and he was a great to work with.  Called to inform my tenant he was on his way and gave me a call after to report his findings, backing it up with info sheets and pictures.  Great service all around.  Thank you, Alex!

Can’t say enough things about Llamas Tree Service. We had an enormous redwood tree fall on our fence line. I called and Alex was there within an hour. Alex and his crew were amazing to work with. They took down three huge redwoods, some fruit trees, a super tall skinny palm tree, and ripped out 40 years of ivy – no easy task. Alex was incredibly responsive and present throughout the process. His crew was courteous and made sure to protect as much of our yard as possible given the destruction that was happening! Alex went above and beyond, recommending someone to rebuild our fence, and even saved some of the redwood for us to use as a hobby project. I had a great experience with Llama Trees.  Alex did a great job at completing the tasks. He was also very flexible and willing to come back to make minor adjustments that were over the top. We had asked him to cut bushes and big tree trunks.  Everything turned out well done!  I would definitely recommend Llamas Trees!

I am very pleased with the tree work that Alex and his team completed recently.  The team arrived on time and worked all day.  The work included the trimming of two fruitless mulberry trees, the removal and stump grinding of an large ash tree that was breaking up my concrete driveway, the shaping of a 25ft oak tree and the removal of a 20ft privet tree.  The work that was done was excellent and completed in one day.  My yards were left in very good shape, cleaned up including all of the rain gutters which were completely full of leaves and tree branches, and the price was very competitive.  I would hire them again.

Llamas Tree Service did a great job thinning our oak tree to raise the canopy over our driveway. It looked great without looking like someone trimmed the tree. He also helped us with a large tree limb that fell from our very large Diadara cedar tree in our backyard. The limb fell and filled our entire backyard and we needed it removed and the tree inspected to make sure it wasn’t more of a problem than a heavy limb coming down on a windy day. They were able to come out very quickly, inspect the tree as well as the other cedar in the backyard and give me and estimate right away AND he would take care of it that day! I called two other local companies and they couldn’t even come out to look at it for a week and then the work would be scheduled after that. Llamas Tree Service saved the day! They were done in several hours, the yard was clean when they were done and he sent me a photo of the clear yard so I could see they finished since I was out of town. They prices also seemed fair.  I would definitely  recommend them.
